Iraq's share in the International Monetary Fund increased by 50%
The Council of Ministers approved the increase of Iraq's share in the International Monetary Fund by (83.900) million special drawing units, or (1.45252127) trillion dinars, according to the exchange rate on October 8, 2024, to include the amount of the increase in allocations for the year 2025. The adviser to the Prime Minister for Financial Affairs, the appearance of Mohammed Saleh, that the proposed increase will lead to an increase in Iraq's share in the International Monetary Fund by 50% the previous share, and to increase the voting power of Iraq and increase investor confidence and support the dinar.
