The Authority organizes a meeting for state-owned companies.
The Transparency Authority held a virtual meeting on the “Zoom” platform, which was attended by representatives of the disclosure government agencies, and dedicated to discussing the disclosure schedules for the reports for the years 2022 and 2023.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the ministries of oil, industry, minerals and finance, in addition to the departments of the Ministry of Oil, exploration, production and export companies, gas, refineries, lines and distribution. National Secretariat staff and the support team also participated.
The meeting was hosted by representatives of the World Bank, as well as the Expertisers of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), Mr. Michael Barron and Mr. Tim Low.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Executive Director, Mr. Alaa Mohieldin, welcomed the participants and spoke about the work of the Commission, its structure and the legal basis for its work. This was followed by an intervention by Mr. Barron and Lou, in which they discussed the history of the initiative, its criteria and the benefits achieved by the acceding countries.
Mr. Mohieldin then touched on the mechanism of issuing annual reports and the responsibility of government agencies in providing the required data, and gave a detailed explanation of the disclosure schedules and contents, and how to fill and send them.
At the end of the meeting, many questions and queries were raised about the contents of the tables and the mechanisms of sending data.
